The Lively Up Crew is our jazz band of versatile experienced professional musicians who play various styles of Caribbean flavours, including ska, calypso, jazz & reggae music. We are often requested to play other styles and can easily stretch our repertoire to lay down some soulful jazz grooves to suit your mood.

Sax man Ray Carless is the founder and leader of this lively aggregation of talent which features some of the UK’s best musicians, hand-picked by Ray to create an amazing pool of talented pro’s.

Our guys are top professional musicians for hire who often have studio or touring commitments so it’s imperative that we have this extensive pool of musicians who are comfortable with our brand of Caribbean flavours. Our musicians include Sono & Ava Golding (vocals), Dominic Grant, Maurice Brown & Cameron Pierre (guitars), James Lascelles & Tchaka (Keyboards) and Matthew Philip Wesley Joseph or Tapper (drums).

All of our musicians are long time colleagues and friends who often play together at Club Skaaville and we are able to add percussionists, steel pan players & Limbo dancers as required.

Lively Up has recently played in South Africa, Qatar, Egypt, Rotterdam and Clubs Carnivals all over the world.

We’re highly experienced entertainers who have performed everywhere in the UK from the Royal Albert Hall to the Notting Hill Carnival so you can happily & safely consider us to play our distinct blend of jazz, ska & reggae vibes at your function.
